How to really push the storage

Hi

(Sorry if I've missed some documentation)

I've tried to really push our storage by starting one I/O Analyzer Appliance using the Max_IOPS.icf.

It doesn't seem to be able to push the storage hard enough because if I install 3 I/O Analyzer Appliances and run them at the same time, using Max_IOPS.icf, on the same host and Datastore I can more than double the IOPS generated with only one I/O Analyzer Appliance.

I've also tried to use only one I/O Analyzer Appliance but created several workers but that only generates the same IOPS as one I/O Analyzer Appliance with one worker. I also only see one worker in iometer in the VM console when I try several workers in the web UI.

- There seems to be an issue here since one I/O Analyzer Appliance can't genereate enough IOPS to really saturate the storage.

3 I/O Analyzer Appliances generated about 12 500 iops in total.

1 I/O Analyzer Appliance generated about 5 000 iops in total regardless of the number of workers.

The response times are between 3-6 ms during the tests.

Have I missunderstodd something or do we need to add I/O Analyzer Appliances untill we saturate the storage?

Best Regards,

Hackim
