I am following directions for installing VMWare I/O Analyzer 1.1, but there seems to be a difference on what is stated on VMWare link http://labs.vmware.com/flings/io-analyzer instructions tab vs IOAnalyzer-UserGuide.pdf.
The webiste (and actually read me file) says: "Using the vSphere client, add an additional virtual disk to the appliance. This disk will be used as the target disk by Iometer for all benchmark runs."
However the IOanalyzer-UserGuide.pdf (and actually the wmware_io_analyzer_tutorial_v1.0.pdf) neither mention creating an additional virtual disk.
Nothing says what size to create or anything.
In addition one document simply says to login, then get the IP address and go to it via browser where the pdf says not only login, but run xterm... then another pdf says run xterm and then run dynamo and iometer.exe.
I probably could ignore the wmware_io_analyzer_tutorial_v1.0.pdf since it is older version 1.0... but not sure if I really should be running dynamo and iometer.exe or simploy login to the console and the do everything else through web browser.
And if I am supposed to create an additional virtual disk to the appliance... what size and do I need to do anything for the appliance to know about it.
I just took a look at the Virtual Maching Properties and see there is a second disk that is 100MB... perhaps it created it's own?
Just looking for a bit of clarity here.
Thanks in advance,
Greg
